On October 18, 2025, 8 additional hectares were opened on the Promenade du Paillon. The development now connects the Promenade des Anglais to the Palais des Expositions. The total continuous green area reaches 20 hectares in the central zone.
The opening was accompanied by a program of activities spread across the site and a 4 km route, on October 19, between Océanice and the Traverse Barberis.
Two other green developments had been delivered earlier: the Esplanade De Lattre de Tassigny in October 2024 (6,000 m², 450 trees) and the Bourgada Park in June 2024 (5,000 m²). These openings are located in the city center. They contribute to the expansion of the urban green network in high-density areas.
On October 18, 2025, 8 additional hectares of the Promenade du Paillon were opened in Nice. This new development brings the total accessible green surface to 20 hectares in continuity from the Promenade des Anglais to the Palais des Expositions. The main entrance is located at the level of the Bourgada Esplanade.
The opening was accompanied by a program of activities: repotting workshops, activities for children, solar boat demonstrations, and a digital treasure hunt using the GeoGaming app. The following day, a 4 km sports course was organized between Océanice and the Traverse Barberis, with group starts of 25 people.
This operation is part of a sequence of urban openings launched since 2024. Two other green spaces have been developed in the city center: the Esplanade De Lattre de Tassigny (6,000 m², 450 trees) and the Bourgada Park (5,000 m² of terraced land with Mediterranean plant species). These developments are located in areas with high residential, commercial, and business density.
The development of these public green spaces contributes to improving the living and working environment in the central area. They offer usage conditions conducive to the quality of the urban environment, enhancing the attractiveness of the territory for working populations and supporting talent retention. These factors are considered in the processes of business establishment, relocation, or team retention strategies.
