Artificial intelligence serving healthcare

WAICF 2025 was a key moment to showcase health innovation driven by Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis. At the Région Sud booth, the award ceremony for the Health & AI call for projects illustrated the territory’s commitment to developing medical solutions based on artificial intelligence.

The selected projects aim to optimize hyper-parametric image analysis, improve medical imaging, enhance health data valorization, and create digital tools to combat addictions.

The winners of the Health & AI call for projects are:

  • KLAVA Innovation: a Nice-based startup developing Quitoxil, an innovative digital medicine for smoking cessation.
  • AMKbiotech: developer of IMCTM, an AI-powered medical image analysis software.
  • Imagerie 06: harnessing AI to improve patient pathways, enhance data accessibility, and enable more accurate diagnostics and therapeutic decision-making.
  • GCS CARES: EDS/ORD-IA project optimizing the reuse of health data for research, with a focus on trauma image analysis.

A structured and committed ecosystem

Nice Côte d’Azur benefits from a dynamic research and innovation environment, structured around major players such as 3IA Côte d’Azur, the University of Côte d’Azur’s Imredd, and the Nice University Hospital. Strategic projects include RespirERA (dedicated to respiratory diseases), Rebone (using AI for orthopedic surgery), and the future Skin Institute, France’s first dermatology third-place dedicated to digital experimentation, leveraging AI for diagnosis and monitoring of skin diseases.

A key event for the territory’s attractiveness

During this flagship event, Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis strengthened its positioning as a leading hub for AI applied to healthcare. With cutting-edge research infrastructures, dedicated funding, and strategic collaborations, the region attracts startups, researchers, and investors eager to contribute to the medical advances of tomorrow.
