In 2025, Université Côte d’Azur is introducing the Student Passport, a program for the more than 5,000 first-year undergraduates designed to ease their integration and help them navigate university life. Conceived as an immersive and interactive digital experience, it combines educational modules and quizzes to boost student engagement and identify needs at an early stage.
A formal academic opening marking 60 years of history
September 11 will be a milestone date. For the first time, the University will organize a formal academic opening ceremony, welcoming institutional and academic partners to the Valrose Campus. Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the event will showcase six decades of commitment to education and research. In the afternoon, a press conference with President Jeanick Brisswalter and vice-presidents will outline the priorities for the 2025–2026 academic year and present the flagship projects set to engage the university community.

Higher education in the Nice Côte d’Azur area
The Nice Côte d’Azur area now hosts more than 50,000 students—more than double the number in 2008—thanks to a proactive policy of establishing high value-added specialized institutions. This momentum has enabled Nice to climb 15 places in the 2025 ranking of student cities by L’Étudiant, now reaching 11th position nationwide.
The City also invests €13 million annually in youth policies, complemented by recent initiatives such as the Jeune & Niçois guide and a dedicated participation channel.
In addition, three new schools—Aivancity, Supmode, and Sup-photo—opened in 2024 with the support of Team Nice Côte d’Azur, joining an already strong network that includes Université Côte d’Azur’s IMREDD, Centrale Méditerranée, 42 Nice, INPHYNI, Isart Game Business School, and Université Côte d’Azur itself, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2025.
The recent inauguration of the Iconic Urban Campus, a 20,000 m² facility in the heart of the city, illustrates this ambition. Bringing together programs in business, communication, cybersecurity, and international relations, it has been designed to promote cross-disciplinary exchange and accessibility thanks to its integration with the tram and regional train networks. This model strengthens student integration into urban life, fosters diversity of pathways, and consolidates links with local businesses.
