Team Nice Côte d’Azur at Viva Technology 2025: at the heart of technological transitions and international attractiveness

From June 11 to 14, 2025, Paris hosted Viva Technology, the largest European trade show dedicated to technological innovation. With more than 165,000 visitors, the event brought together startups, investors, public decision-makers and major companies around the technologies of tomorrow. The 2025 edition was particularly marked by international openness and major digital, ecological and industrial transitions.

A collective mobilisation of the economic stakeholders of the Région Sud

Driven by the Région Sud – Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and its economic development agency risingSUD, this year’s regional delegation brought together 40 startups selected to represent the territory’s know-how and innovation.

The regional stand, coordinated by risingSUD, was inaugurated by Bernard Kleynhoff, President of risingSUD and representative of the President of the Région Sud, Renaud Muselier. This collective mobilisation brought together numerous regional economic partners: Business France, local attractiveness agencies, La French Tech Côte d’Azur, local authorities, metropolitan areas and intercommunal bodies.

Team Nice Côte d’Azur was part of this collective delegation and thus contributed to promoting the economic and technological assets of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, in close coordination with all regional partners.

A delegation serving the territory’s strategic sectors

The Team Nice Côte d’Azur team — composed of Sana Bouyahia, Axelle Xerri and Jean-François Chapperon — ensured the economic promotion of the Nice Côte d’Azur territory to investors, project developers and international partners.

This presence is fully in line with the economic strategy of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, structured around its key sectors:

  • Digital health and biotechnology: with structuring projects such as REBONE and RespirERA, and a network of innovative startups (ExAdEx-Innov, Roca Therapeutics, etc.)
  • Cultural and creative industries (CCI/ICC): driven by the Victorine Studios, ISART Digital, and projects in video games, XR and audiovisual
  • Blue economy: strengthened by the Nice Ocean Business Forum (June 9–11) and the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC-3) in Nice
  • Natural products and dietary supplements: over 100 companies in aromas, cosmetics and food supplements, supported by the Innov’Alliance cluster
  • Industry 4.0: innovative, decarbonised, and connected industry under the Territoire d’Industrie label (2023–2027)
  • IT, innovation and artificial intelligence: with the Nice Méridia urban technopole and startups in cybersecurity, green tech and applied AI
  • Not to forget tourism and the ecological transition

Highlight: launch of the Business Landing Nice Côte d’Azur 2025 programme

A key moment of the trade show was the official launch of the Business Landing Nice Côte d’Azur 2025 initiative, designed to support the establishment of startups and innovative companies in the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis:

  • Tailored strategic guidance
  • Targeted financial incentives
  • Streamlined integration into local business networks
  • Priority access to Metropolis partners

Supported by risingSUD, the Région Sud, and Team Nice Côte d’Azur, this programme aims to strengthen the economic attractiveness of Nice Côte d’Azur and facilitate the arrival of new innovative projects.

VivaTech 2025: major trends and visibility for Nice-based startups

The 2025 edition highlighted several key trends observed by the Team Nice Côte d’Azur members:

  • Tourism: towards more sustainable and safer mobility
  • Cultural and creative industries: AI at the heart of transformations, illustrated by Angelo Gopee’s (Live Nation Entertainment) keynote
  • Health: AI serving research and health security in the face of climate challenges

The internationalisation of Viva Technology also intensified this year, with the presence of delegations from Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Quebec, and Canada.

Seven startups from the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis in the spotlight

Among the 40 regional startups present, seven companies from the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis showcased the dynamism of the local ecosystem:

  • Active Asset Allocation – Fintech specialising in portfolio optimisation using AI
  • Asterfox – AI-based app for wine cellar management
  • DataGreen – Eco-friendly micro data centres that reuse waste heat
  • Earthwake – Plastic-to-fuel conversion through pyrolysis
  • Plouf Safety Concept – Patented floating swimsuits for aquatic safety
  • OviBar – Smart minibar for filtered water distribution
  • Quehora – AI to optimise tourist flows and reduce crowding

Alongside them, Solaya, a young Nice-based startup founded in 2024 by Massimo Moretti and Mariem Farhat, gained exceptional visibility. Supported by Team Nice Côte d’Azur for its setup, Solaya is revolutionising e-commerce content production through artificial intelligence, 3D, and computer vision, and exhibited this year alongside LVMH.

Concrete development prospects

Through numerous meetings with investors, decision-makers, and international partners, the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis confirmed its appeal and ability to attract new innovative projects.
This edition of Viva Technology marks a new milestone in the international visibility of the Côte d’Azur ecosystem and in the consolidation of its place among the leading territories in technological and ecological transitions.
