Team Nice Côte d’Azur and Rising Sud join forces with Latitude59 to promote the technological strengths of the Côte d’Azur and Région Sud

Team Nice Côte d'Azur à Latitude59 Tallinn 2026

Team Nice Côte d’Azur will take part in Latitude59 in Tallinn from 20 to 22 May 2026. On this occasion, Jean-François Chapperon, Senior Manager Foreign Direct Investments, will represent the Nice Côte d’Azur area among leading players from the Nordic and Baltic tech ecosystem.

This participation forms part of a business prospecting mission coordinated with Rising Sud and carried out alongside representatives of the Sophia Antipolis technology park, with a shared ambition: to showcase, in a complementary way, the full range of technological, scientific and economic strengths of the Côte d’Azur and Région Sud to international investors, investment funds, startups and innovative companies.

In parallel with the event, several strategic meetings and prospecting sessions will be organised with potential investors and key innovation stakeholders in order to promote opportunities for setting up and developing activities across the Côte d’Azur and the wider regional area.

A leading reference point for innovation in the Nordic and Baltic countries, Latitude59 brings together more than 3,500 participants from 70 countries, 800 investors and 900 startup representatives. Organised since 2012, the event combines international conferences, a pitch competition and targeted networking formats. This year, 465 startups from five continents applied to the official competition.

Estonia, the host country, has the highest concentration of unicorns per capita in Europe. The country has seen the emergence of emblematic companies such as Skype, Wise and Bolt. Its ecosystem, built around a strong culture of digital innovation and early internationalisation, represents a particularly relevant environment for an international attractiveness and prospecting strategy.

This mission forms part of Team Nice Côte d’Azur’s international representation strategy. Since the beginning of 2026, the agency has carried the voice of the territory at Mobile World Congress, GITEX Africa, BIO-Europe Spring in Lisbon, the Van Lanschot Kempen Life Sciences Conference in Amsterdam and Vitafoods Europe in Barcelona. With Latitude59, Team Nice Côte d’Azur is now strengthening its presence among Northern Europe’s technology ecosystems.

Promoting Nice Côte d’Azur and Région Sud to Nordic and Baltic startups

The coordinated presence of Team Nice Côte d’Azur, Rising Sud and representatives of Sophia Antipolis at Latitude59 aims to raise awareness of the complementary strengths of the Côte d’Azur and the wider region among Nordic and Baltic startups and scale-ups looking for a foothold in Southern Europe.

The event format, structured around investor-startup meetings, thematic sessions and side events, supports qualified exchanges and opportunities for international cooperation.

Nice Côte d’Azur offers distinctive advantages for companies with a strong international profile. Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, the second largest in France, serves more than 130 destinations and increased its capacity to 18 million passengers following the extension of Terminal 2 in April 2026.

The territory also benefits from an AI ecosystem structured around 3IA Côte d’Azur, one of the four national artificial intelligence institutes accredited in France, led by Université Côte d’Azur, CNRS and Inria, with recognised work in digital health and smart territories. IMREDD, through its Smart City Innovation Center located in the Nice Méridia eco-district, develops solutions linked to the energy transition and intelligent territorial management. French Tech Côte d’Azur, the Hub de l’Innovation and business setup support schemes complete an environment that is favourable to the growth of innovative companies.

For Nordic startups accustomed to expanding internationally from their earliest stages, Nice Côte d’Azur and Région Sud represent a strategic foothold connected to the United States, Europe, the Mediterranean and North Africa, combining international accessibility, technological excellence and talent attractiveness.

Will you be attending Latitude59?

Jean-François Chapperon will be available during the event and during the prospecting meetings organised alongside the trade show to discuss opportunities for business location, investment and cooperation with the Nice Côte d’Azur and Région Sud ecosystem.
