American Airlines, the world’s leading passenger airline, inaugurated on Tuesday, May 7 a new direct connection between Philadelphia and Nice Côte d’Azur airport. This expansion of the network of destinations in direct connectivity with the United States testifies to the growing attractiveness of the Côte d’Azur among American travelers.
After the opening of the line to Atlanta last year, it is the turn of American Airlines’ powerful hub to connect to the Côte d’Azur. The flights will be operated daily until October 6, thus offering passengers a considerable time saving and a reduction in CO2 emissions.
Franck Goldnadel, president of the management board of the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur, expressed his gratitude to American Airlines for this new route: “We warmly thank American Airlines for their trust and this new route to the United States operated directly, synonymous with time saving and lower emissions. It testifies to the growing attractiveness of our territory among Americans, who are more and more numerous each year to come to the Côte d’Azur, and responds to our desire to always better connect our territory to the great cities of the world. “
Philadelphia, one of American Airlines’ major hubs, offers more than 140 destinations to passengers. José Freig, Vice-President of American Airlines in charge of international operations, shared his enthusiasm for this new connection: “We are delighted to officially start the summer season in Europe with the launch of our new Nice-Philadelphia service. Our daily flight to the Côte d’Azur offers our customers a new opportunity to discover the blue azure waters, the gastronomy and the rich culture that the Côte d’Azur offers. We are therefore eager to work alongside our partners at Nice airport to further enrich their experience in the south of France.“
This collaboration between American Airlines and the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur aims to improve the passenger experience and to strengthen the accessibility of the territory. Travelers will now be able to benefit from facilitated access to many destinations from the Philadelphia hub.
