The Nice University Hospital & Novartis Partner for Therapeutic Innovation

At the end of 2023, a partnership agreement was signed between Novartis and the Nice University Hospital in the presence of Denis BURGARELLA, Director of Public Relations and Promotion at Nice University Hospital; Eric MONCH, Director of Clinical Research and Innovation; Dr. Patrick MESHAKA, Medical Director France of Novartis; Joumana HUDRY, Market Access, Public Affairs and Institutional Affairs Director of Novartis; Sandra MAHAMADALY, Director of Clinical Operations of Novartis; Professor Christian ROUX (Director of the CRC); and Professor Jean DELLAMONICA, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

The agreement aims to develop collaboration in clinical research and therapeutic innovation, targeting research programs of mutual interest.

At Nice University Hospital, about fifteen clinical trials promoted by Novartis are underway with an increasing number of patients included.

These trials cover the fields of cardiology, immunology, dermatology, hematology, and neurology. They particularly concern rare diseases or diseases for which medicine currently has no satisfactory solution. Innovations can thus be offered to eligible patients.

Nice University Hospital has proposed to Novartis to work on this written agreement around a common subject in terms of research and innovations. The goal is to define the collaboration’s axes and implement the optimization processes for Novartis clinical trials, the modalities of interactions, as well as the deployment of mixed working groups by themes, co-led by a representative from each entity.

Promote access to therapeutic innovations through the development of new clinical trials
Pool skills and development opportunities
Increase the attractiveness of Nice University Hospital in terms of research and innovation
More firmly anchor the hospital in its territory by developing projects related to the care pathways of patients within the hospital and in the community
