Team Côte d’Azur will attend the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, from the 27th of February to the 2nd of March 2017. Our experts will meet CEOs and company executives to tell them why the Côte d’Azur is the perfect place to invest in Mobile Technologies. Christophe Pérez, Head of IT Projects, explains how attending the Mobile World Congress is part of his plan to attract FDI on the Côte d’Azur.
What does the Mobile World Congress mean for Team Côte d’Azur ?
After changing its name from GSM Congress to Mobile World Congress, this trade show has become a key event and is a great way for Team Côte d’Azur to generate leads.
Why is this a key event?
The entire mobile industry is gathered together in the same place during a period of 4 days, therefore, the major players that we have been targeting throughout the year can be easily reached.
The entire value chain is represented at the Mobile World Congress. It is an excellent opportunity to showcase our strengths to a business community that sees the Côte d’Azur (French Riviera) as an excellent place to innovate.
My catch phrase “Invest In Côte d’Azur” frequently captures the attention of investors who question me to know more about a region which they consider, even today, as “the place to be.” In fact, recently a large group of Americans randomly passed by the France pavilion, just to get information about investing in the Côte d’Azur region.
Even if the dynamic changes and the competition becomes tougher between territories, it is a pleasure to work for such a well-recognized brand.
What is your objective in going to the Mobile World Congress 2017 ?
We focus our targeting efforts on the future champions. With this focus, we have been able to achieve more precision in our work over the last two years.
This year, we are working on a target of 600 companies from North America, EMEA, and Asia, that meet the criteria we stipulated on our roadmap three years ago.
Our targeting efforts are carried out in house by American students working for Team Côte d’Azur. This valuable marketing support has been made possible thanks to an agreement made in January 2015 with an American university, which is a member of the famous “Pack 12.”
We hope to obtain 50 well qualified contacts at the Mobile World Congress, with whom we will work throughout the year.
We will also take advantage of the trade show to re-connect with decision makers of large accounts already present in the Côte d’Azur, in order to listen, maintain their Côte d’Azur investment, and to seize any new development opportunities.
Is your presence at the Mobile World Congress exclusively dedicated to generating leads?
This year, we are planning several actions dedicated to boosting our network because it is also up to the members of the high-tech Côte d’Azur community to be ambassadors to the attractiveness of our territory. Without them our message has a less significant impact.
The main goal of this event is to attract attention and increase the visibility of the Côte d’Azur region on the High tech scene.
What are your hopes for the upcoming Mobile World Congress?
Following up on the meetings we carry out at the Mobile World Congress, we usually attract one or two new companies to the region. This year, we hope to have at least a similar number, and hopefully even more.
