Virbac announces the appointment of Paul Martingell as chief executive officer of the Virbac Group, effective September 1, 2025.
Paul Martingell, 45, is a recognized leader who has demonstrated his ability to unite international teams, manage complexity, and create value.
Holder of an MBA with distinction in mergers and acquisitions and a chartered accountant in the United Kingdom, he has over 25 years of extensive international experience, notably in consumer health, consumer goods, and pharmaceuticals.
His career path is marked by roles of increasing responsibility across Europe, Asia, and Latin America, first at Ernst & Young (EY), then at Reckitt Benckiser and Novartis Consumer Healthcare.
For the past eleven years, he has been part of the executive committee that oversaw the merger of Boehringer Ingelheim’s and Sanofi’s Consumer Healthcare activities. During this period, he led key regions and held the role of chief growth officer.
Over the last three years, he has served as senior vice president, region head for Europe and Latin America, a region generating nearly €3 billion in revenue. In this role, he joined the leadership team that successfully completed the spin-off of Opella.
According to Virbac’s press release, Paul Martingell is a leader recognized for his ability to build diverse and agile teams within engaged, growth-oriented cultures. He has proven his agility in shaping visions and leading successful transformations in global, regional, and local operational roles, with a highly analytical approach and rapid decision-making.

On the recommendation of the nominations and compensation committee, the Virbac board of directors appointed Paul Martingell as chief executive officer on June 18, 2025, with effect from September 1, 2025.
The board of directors thanks Habib Ramdani for having diligently and professionally served as interim CEO. As of September 1, Habib Ramdani will resume his previous role as Group Chief Financial Officer and reclaim his position as deputy chief executive officer.
