A targeted technology merger
The merger combines Firecell’s core network and NMS (Network Management System) with Accelleran’s programmable RAN, management and artificial intelligence capabilities within a pre-integrated sovereign private 5G solution.
A structuring financing round
The transaction is backed by a €7.9 million funding round. The round brings together Matterwave Ventures, Bpifrance, Qbic and Cogito Capital Partners. The financing supports the company’s industrial and commercial development.
An architecture designed for critical-use environments
The platform is aimed at sites where service continuity is essential to operations. Use cases include ports, factories, defence facilities and logistics platforms. Network functions notably include slicing, VoNR and mission-critical communications.
A pan-European organisation
The merged company will operate under the Firecell name and brand, with Claude Seyrat appointed Chief Executive Officer. It will double its engineering and commercial capacity, with teams in France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany and Poland, as well as deployments in Europe, the United States and Asia.
Firecell and Accelleran have announced the merger of the two companies in order to create a complete private 5G solution for industrial autonomy, critical infrastructure and defence connectivity. The merger combines Firecell’s core network and NMS (network management system) with Accelleran’s programmable radio access, management and artificial intelligence capabilities within a pre-integrated sovereign private 5G solution. The company’s offering is aimed at ports, factories, defence facilities and logistics sites, where connectivity is essential to operations.
The industrial sector is moving from an equipment monitoring logic to one of fully autonomous operations. Robotic arms, automated guided vehicles, drones and teleoperated machines require deterministic connectivity – a connection interruption can, for example, lead to production stoppages and safety risks. Private 5G meets this requirement, but its deployment most often currently involves assembling components from multiple suppliers, each with its own update cycles, support terms and integration constraints.
The new Firecell platform offers:
- Global coverage: support for all frequency division duplex and time division duplex bands, ensuring consistent international deployments
- High-performance connectivity: sub-millisecond latency supporting thousands of simultaneous connected devices through dedicated network slicing, together with voice over NR and instant communications functions for operational use
- AI-driven network intelligence: real-time optimisation of capacity and energy consumption through intelligent programmable controllers and dedicated software applications
- Software developed entirely in Europe: local deployment, ensuring full autonomy and data sovereignty for defence and sensitive infrastructure
Designed for system integrators
Firecell will distribute its new offering through system integrators and telecom partners. Integrators will be able to acquire the different network components separately – core network or radio access – providing the flexibility required to meet specific project requirements or existing infrastructure. Pre-integration enables deployment within a matter of weeks, with unified update cycles and support arrangements for environments where speed and simplicity are critical.
End customers will be able to achieve operational autonomy with minimal training requirements. The solution can be configured by the customer or the integrator (parameter changes, log collection, quality-of-service adjustments) without systematically relying on vendor support. For premium integrator partners, specific network behaviours will be developed using programmable software modules tailored to sectors such as defence, industrial automation or energy-efficient deployments.
The existing Firecell and Accelleran product lines will continue to be maintained and supported.
Investment and leadership
The merger is backed by a €7.9 million funding round led by existing investors Matterwave Ventures, Bpifrance, Qbic and Cogito Capital Partners.
The merged company will operate under the Firecell name and brand, with Claude Seyrat appointed Chief Executive Officer. It will double its engineering and commercial footprint, with teams in France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany and Poland, as well as deployments in Europe, the United States and Asia.
Firecell will present its integrated private 5G solution at Mobile World Congress (2–5 March 2026, Fira Gran Via, Barcelona), Hall 5, Stand 5B41.
The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including shareholder approval, regulatory clearances and the signing of definitive agreements. Completion is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
