- Team Nice Côte d’Azur, with the commitment of Sana Bouyahia, Head of Project Development Health and Sports, organized a structuring afterwork event to strengthen synergies among stakeholders in the health sector.
- The initiative was launched by Medpackinter, a new pharmaceutical manufacturer established in Nice in 2024 with the support of Team Nice Côte d’Azur, as part of an active local connection strategy.
- Startups, researchers, institutions, and public operators came together to showcase the richness of the local ecosystem and accelerate the structuring of the HealthTech industry in the Nice Côte d’Azur area.
Creating lasting connections among health stakeholders
On July 10, 2025, Team Nice Côte d’Azur hosted in its offices an afterwork fully dedicated to the life sciences ecosystem of the Nice Côte d’Azur territory. In an informal format, the event brought together startups, researchers, biotechnology experts, academics, investors, and support organizations to foster direct, concrete, and cross-disciplinary interactions.
At the core of this initiative: the goal of connecting innovators — both new entrants and long-standing players — around common HealthTech challenges, while reinforcing the sector’s momentum in the Nice Côte d’Azur region.
An industrial momentum initiated from the start
The afterwork was initiated by Medpackinter, the French subsidiary of Medpack, a group founded in 2012 in Tunisia and specializing in pharmaceutical packaging — in particular compact cardboard cases and leaflet printing.
For its recent establishment in Nice, Medpackinter benefited from the support of Team Nice Côte d’Azur. The team facilitated the company’s integration by introducing it to key economic, institutional, and real estate stakeholders in the region.
The afterwork organized in this context reflects a clear ambition from Medpackinter: to play an active role in the local health ecosystem by contributing to networking opportunities.
Showcasing emerging local expertise
Several young companies took the opportunity to present their projects in short, targeted pitches, enhancing visibility and networking. These presentations highlighted the diversity of HealthTech models: medical devices, biotechnologies, artificial intelligence applied to health, and clinical research.
The simultaneous presence of research, innovation, finance, and public support players fostered direct exchanges of solutions, needs, and collaboration prospects.
Team Nice Côte d’Azur: an operational facilitator
The organization of this afterwork is part of a broader effort to connect new entrants with long-established stakeholders in the region. Thanks to its in-depth knowledge of strategic industries and a consolidated partner network, the agency supports both the establishment of new industrial players, such as Medpackinter, and the promotion and visibility of collaborative projects in health, sports, and innovation.
The dynamism of the health sector in Nice Côte d’Azur
The attractiveness of the Côte d’Azur territory in health is based on a structured, interconnected ecosystem combining cutting-edge hospital infrastructure, academic excellence, technological innovation, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
The Nice University Hospital, in partnership with Université Côte d’Azur, leads major projects such as the IHU RespirERA, dedicated to chronic respiratory diseases, reinforcing Nice’s strategic positioning in precision medicine.
This initiative stands alongside projects such as the Skin Institute (digital dermatology) and 3IA Côte d’Azur, a center of excellence in artificial intelligence applied to health (biomarkers, predictive medicine, digital twins).
Université Côte d’Azur plays a central role through programs such as Nucleate France UniCA, facilitating the transition from academic research to entrepreneurship in life sciences. Projects like Dimicare, a spin-off from INSERM, CNRS, and UniCA, illustrate this dynamic by developing new targeted antibiotics via the ARROW platform.
This scientific foundation fuels a pool of innovative companies such as Algenscribe (genomics), Roca Therapeutics (biotech), ExAdEx-Innov (cell therapies), and Klava Innovation (smart medical devices).
In June 2025, the Nice-based company Caranx Medical obtained FDA approval for artificial intelligence software in cardiac surgery, positioning the Côte d’Azur as a leading hub in digital health and medical robotics.
This development is supported by innovation infrastructures such as the Eurobiomed cluster and benefits from growing international visibility, strengthened by strategic partnerships and targeted public investments.
