  • United Airlines has inaugurated a new seasonal nonstop route between Nice Côte d’Azur Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport. Operated four times per week with a Boeing 767-300, the service will run from May 23 to September 25, 2025.
  • This new connection increases seat capacity from Nice to the United States by more than 30%, complementing the existing service to New York/Newark.
  • United thus strengthens the Côte d’Azur’s transatlantic connectivity via two major intercontinental hubs, offering seamless access to over 130 destinations across the U.S. and the Americas.

A new strategic transatlantic link for the Côte d’Azur

On May 23, 2025, United Airlines officially launched its new nonstop seasonal route between Nice Côte d’Azur Airport and Washington Dulles. Scheduled four times per week, this new flight joins the airline’s existing service to New York/Newark and contributes to a 30% increase in seat availability between Nice and the U.S. during the 2025 summer season.

The route is operated with a Boeing 767-300, offering 30 United Polaris business class suites, 24 United Premium Plus seats, and 149 economy class seats. Onboard services include premium menus, individual in-flight entertainment, and enhanced comfort across all travel classes.

A significant enhancement of the Côte d’Azur’s air network

This development is part of the most extensive international expansion ever undertaken by United Airlines. It positions Nice as one of the few French airports to offer multiple direct connections to the U.S., consolidating its role in transatlantic passenger flows.

“We are thrilled to expand our network between France and the United States with this new flight, which also marks our first-ever route between Nice and Washington D.C.,” said Grégoire Dutoit, Sales Director France at United Airlines. “This nonstop service offers even more travel options to our customers from Nice, Monaco, and the entire Côte d’Azur region, who can now fly directly to both Washington D.C. and New York/Newark, with convenient onward connections to more than 130 destinations across the Americas through our hubs.”

“We sincerely thank United Airlines for their trust and for this new nonstop service to the U.S. capital—an efficient and lower-emission option for travelers. It reflects the growing attractiveness of our region to American visitors, whose numbers continue to rise on the Côte d’Azur, and aligns with our goal of better connecting our region to major global cities,” said Franck Goldnadel, Chairman of the Executive Board, Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur.

Air connectivity as a lever for economic attractiveness

With this new route, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport strengthens its position as the leading air hub in southeastern France, connected to key European, North American, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cities. Direct access to major decision-making centers such as New York, Montreal, Dubai, and now Washington D.C. is a strategic asset for attracting international business and investment.

“The increasing number of transatlantic routes to Nice demonstrates our region’s ability to attract leading international carriers and meet the expectations of global economic stakeholders,” stated Hervé Laubertie, CEO of Team Nice Côte d’Azur. “Each direct connection acts as a catalyst for business relations, high-value tourism, and inbound investment flows.”
