Born in 2008, SINAY is strong of a 10 years experience in maritime environment, submarine acoustic and Big Data. Alessio Maglio, the new manager of SINAY Côte d’Azur agency, originally from Sanremo, explains us the choice of the French Riviera and his vision of co-construction with local companies.
Can you tell us more about SINAY and its activities on the Côte d’Azur ?
SINAY is a company specialized in digital applied to the maritime industry (ports, shipping, submarine cables, fishing, renewable marine energies, etc.) At SINAY, we develop a big data platform using a huge database, automated processing algorithms and specialized applications for maritime jobs. SINAY works at a national and a European level and its activities around the Mediterranean Sea concern environmental studies as well as maritime studies.
Why did you choose to establish SINAY on the Côte d’Azur ?
SINAY is established in Normandie and Bretagne. We chose to settle in Sophia Antipolis too for its Mediterranean rich and various ecosystem of companies and research institutes. We bring skills and a rare expertise on marine sciences paired with big data’s technologies application which we want to develop in partnership with companies from the Côte d’Azur. Moreover, quite a few of our historical clients or NGO are already present in the area.

The welcoming on the Côte d’Azur has been enthusiastic thanks to the complementarity between our expertise and the one of local companies. Team Côte d’Azur enabled us to easily find premises and quickly take place in Sophia Antipolis ecosystem. We know that we can rely on Team Côte d’Azur’s support for our future development.
What is your vision about the future of SINAY on the Côte d’Azur ?
SINAY wishes to develop new application products linking digital and maritime; for that we want to build commercial partnerships with local companies. Moreover, we rely on academic competences and the rich network of research institutes to develop our AI products. Within the next 3 years, the agency aims to hire 4 to 5 product engineers and developers.
