- Nice University Hospital and Emirates Hospitals Group (EHG) have signed an international cooperation agreement in the field of healthcare, formalized on 26 January 2026.
- The agreement provides for exchanges of practices, targeted training programs, the hosting of students, and the development of specialized care pathways on cutting-edge themes.
- The signing brought together leaders from both organizations as well as French and Emirati institutional representatives, illustrating the growing institutional interest in this type of partnership.
- This cooperation forms part of Nice University Hospital’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its international presence.
On 26 January 2026, Mr. Rodolphe Bourret, Chief Executive Officer of Nice University Hospital, welcomed Mr. Christian Schuhmacher, Executive President, and Mr. Prosenjit Bhattacharya, Chief Operating Officer of Emirates Hospitals Group (EHG), a hospital group based primarily in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, to Nice University Hospital.
This visit resulted in the signing of an international cooperation agreement in the field of healthcare, in the presence of Ms. Johanna Lefrel, Global Health Advisor for the Middle East region based at the Embassy of France in Saudi Arabia; Dr. Lateef Al Sada, Head of the Consular Affairs Department at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in France; Drs. Hervé Cael and Christiane Amiel, Municipal Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Nice; as well as Professors Fanny Burel-Vandenbos and Isabelle Guellec-Renne, representing the Faculty of Medicine and the medical community of the University Hospital.
This signing is intended to enable the organization of a dynamic and ambitious partnership over the coming months and years around the following major themes:
- Facilitating exchanges of best practices and the sharing of experience in the fields of clinical care and hospital management;
- Organizing professional visits and targeted short training programs, in Dubai or in Nice;
- Encouraging the hosting of students or healthcare professionals undergoing clinical training at Nice University Hospital;
- Developing care pathways and patient referral streams in advanced subspecialties;
- Participating in joint clinical research projects.
During the day, the delegation was able to visit Pasteur 2 Hospital, whose phase 2 was inaugurated at the end of 2025. This was the second visit by EHG to Nice University Hospital, as Mr. Prosenjit Bhattacharya, Chief Operating Officer of the group, had already met Mr. Bourret in November 2025.
The signing of this cooperation agreement with Emirates Hospitals Group strengthens the international positioning of Nice University Hospital and contributes to its international visibility, with the aim of promoting its expertise, its professionals, and enhancing the quality of care for all its patients.
