Thursday, March 14 at 10:30 am – Presentation of the renaturation strategy for the territory of the Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur and Nice Écovallée

Presentation of the renaturation strategy of the Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur and in particular of the Plaine du Var. By favoring the development of the existing urban area, the natural and agricultural hectares of the Plaine du Var are thus preserved, and even highly urbanized sectors are de-impermeabilized. Within the ZAC Parc Méridia, the large 20-hectare landscaped park of the Plaine du Var (GPPV) must contribute to the return to a natural state of nearly 60% of this area, which is currently highly impermeable and poorly qualified, and offer residents of the sector a real space for relaxation. To carry out this project, a unique project management agreement will be signed, at the end of this conference, between EPA Nice Ecovallée, the City of Nice and the Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur.

Nice Côte d’Azur: Quality of Life and Economic Vitality

The Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur, already world-renowned for its tourist attractiveness, is now established as a territory of excellence in the fields of innovation, major events, industry and housing.

Serious assets that give it a unique place in the business real estate market thanks to a diversified offer, structured around EcoDistricts with well-defined economic identities benefiting from rare connectivity with the multimodal exchange hub connecting the public transport network to the international airport.

At the top of the 2024 ranking of cities with more than 300,000 inhabitants where it is good to live in France, Nice comes in second place in the “large metropolises” recognized for their economic vitality according to the 7th Arthur Loyd network barometer. Labeled by the State “Territory of Industry” for the period 2023-2027, the Riviera metropolis has also been designated by the government “territory committed to housing”: so many titles that testify to the dynamism of a “smart city” which has bet early on innovative urban infrastructures to attract businesses and talents.

Despite the crisis currently affecting the national professional real estate market, the Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur continues its development by welcoming many companies attracted by a contemporary and dynamic ecosystem in the fields of digital technology, artificial intelligence and new technologies at the service of finance, health, mobility, the city, the sea and renewable energies… To accommodate and ensure the growth of these innovative projects, no less than 10,000 m² of offices are delivered each year within Nice Écovallée, in the Plaine du Var, from where programs adapted to the needs of businesses and their employees emerge, in a unique economic environment, in the heart of districts with high environmental requirements, and in exemplary buildings of high quality of use.

Each new district within Nice Écovallée, developed by EPA Nice Écovallée, is thus organized in the logic of the “quarter-hour city” theorized by Carlos Moreno. In a metropolis that has become polycentric, residents find on the scale of their neighborhood what they need to live, work and supply themselves healthily, as well as activities promoting physical and mental health, education, culture…

Ultimately, it is nearly 12,500 new bioclimatic, adaptable and flexible homes that should be delivered for all types of households and budgets.
