The Nice based startup Advansolar, specialized in solar electric mobility, teamed up with Microsoft to help earthquake-stricken Nepal by sending several of its SunPod® Nomad to the Microsoft Innovation Center Nepal.


Designed by Advansolar, the SunPod® Nomad is a station which runs only on solar power and can be used to charge the batteries of mobile phones, torch lights, and connect to Wi-Fi to make free Skype calls for example. Advansolar’s solution shows its usefulness in times of disaster-relief to empower people while communications systems in the country are not fully restored.
