Robertet, the Grasse-based group specialising in flavourings has opened a workshop dedicated to powdered flavourings on its production site in Grasse, for an investment of 8 million euros.
Robertet therefore intends to extend its operations to new markets. In early 2014, the Group bought the innovative Belgian company Hitex, which specialised in the clean extraction of active principles using supercritical CO2 and planned to develop a full range of naturally-extracted products.
50% of the Group’s production takes place in Grasse and it has subsidiaries in Asia and Latin America.
This recent announcement by one of the world leaders in flavourings and perfumes highlights the sector’s strong growth dynamic. In the last two years, V.Mane and Fils et Expressions Aromatiques, two influential companies based on the Cote d’Azur, have invested in new production facilities.
The Robertet Group is one of the world leaders in the food flavourings, perfumery composition and natural raw materials sector. It employs over 1,500 people in its production, R&D and creation centres across 11 countries worldwide. Its 2012 turnover was almost 396 million euros (+6%), 85% of which came from the international business. Based in Grasse since 1850, Robertet continues to invest heavily in its industrial site.
