EasyJet, one of the most influential low-cost airlines, announces the opening of three new routes connecting Nice Côte d’Azur Airport to key Mediterranean destinations, and vice versa, for the summer of 2024.
These new routes, established between Nice and the cities of Alicante and Malaga in Spain, as well as the island of Cephalonia in Greece, signify significant bilateral development, highlighting both the appeal of the Côte d’Azur and the increased accessibility of these Mediterranean destinations.
Service to and from Alicante will commence on April 5th, offering two weekly flights until August 30th. The connection with Malaga will begin on June 2nd, with three flights per week until September 1st. For Cephalonia, the frequency will be weekly, from June 30th to September 1st.
Economic and Strategic Impacts
EasyJet’s initiative strengthens Nice’s role as a strategic aviation hub while providing improved accessibility to popular Mediterranean destinations. This expansion underscores the airline’s response to the growing demand for cost-effective travel both to and from the French Riviera, highlighting its strategy to remain competitive in the dynamic aviation sector.
Sustainability Commitments
In parallel, EasyJet maintains its commitment to sustainability. The recent installation of advanced technologies in its fleet aims to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, aligning with the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
The addition of these connections to and from Nice by EasyJet marks a significant step in its growth strategy and environmental commitment. By linking the French Riviera to key Mediterranean destinations, EasyJet not only strengthens its network but also contributes to the economic and touristic attractiveness of the region.
