Engaging international innovators through structured partnerships
From June 16 to 19, 2025, Sana Bouyahia, Head of Project Development for Health and Sport at Team Nice Côte d’Azur, will represent the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis at the BIO International Convention in Boston. As the largest global gathering for the life sciences industry, the event attracts key decision-makers from biotech, medtech, investment funds, and academic institutions.
This presence reinforces the region’s ongoing strategy to connect with leading international actors through curated, results-driven collaborations. The focus of this mission is clear: to expand the visibility of Nice Côte d’Azur as a European anchor point for health innovation, and to facilitate structured engagement with stakeholders looking to scale their activities in Europe.
Strategic priorities: funding, partnerships, expansion
The approach centers on several key axes. First, identifying high-potential biotech and medtech companies seeking access to the European market, with particular interest in those exploring hybrid funding models – combining equity, non-dilutive capital, and strategic partnerships. Second, building a robust and qualified pipeline of innovation opportunities that align with growth strategies in diagnostics, therapeutic innovation, and AI-powered health data.
Additionally, this mission explores collaborative formats such as joint ventures, licensing agreements, and R&D partnerships to accelerate access to both public and private ecosystems in the region.
A territory designed for translational health innovation
The participation of Team Nice Côte d’Azur at BIO 2025 is part of a broader roadmap that includes collaboration with the CHU de Nice, the IHU RespirERA, and the future Campus Santé of Université Côte d’Azur. The territory offers a unique combination of clinical infrastructure, academic leadership, and public-private governance, making it an optimal environment for life sciences projects to mature and scale.
For North American innovators, Nice Côte d’Azur provides not only access to the French market but also a platform for Mediterranean and EU-wide expansion, leveraging Nice’s connectivity and regulatory assets.
