On October 2, 2025, Circum Medtech Pharma, a CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) specialized in medical devices, inaugurated its new industrial site in Sousse, Tunisia.

This opening marks a major step in the deployment of a structured industrial organization between Nice, Zurich, and Sousse, designed to combine proximity, agility, and coordination on a Euro-Mediterranean scale.
By relying on the Nice ecosystem for its central functions, Circum is implementing a coherent, high-performing organization tailored to the demands of international markets.
An efficient industrial facility serving agile production
The new production site in Sousse, covering 4,000 m², houses the main stages of production for single-use medical devices: plastic injection, extrusion, manual and semi-automated assembly, packaging, sterilization, all within an ISO 7 cleanroom. Within three years, 200 jobs will be created.
Located less than 10 minutes from Monastir International Airport and benefiting from bonded zone status, the site is fully integrated into a smooth logistics chain with France and European markets. It provides Circum with flexible and cost-effective production capacity, directly connected to the teams based in Nice.
Mohamed Rekik, co-founder and CEO of Circum Medtech Pharma in Nice, explains: “Our ambition is primarily European. We aim to provide quality alternatives to options coming from Asia. We can deliver our productions from Sousse within 48 hours, with a much lower carbon footprint. In our sector, our primary target markets are Germany and Switzerland.
With an operational base directly opposite Nice Airport, literally five minutes from the terminal, we are less than two hours from our manufacturing site and many European capitals. This adds maximum efficiency to our team. With our agility, we hope that European industry will regain greater control over its Medtech production.”

Nice: operational hub for the company’s central functions
Since 2024, the Grand Arénas international business district in Nice has hosted the operational headquarters of Circum Medtech Pharma, where the company’s key functions are based: research and development, industrialization, quality, regulatory affairs, supply chain, general management.
This location was chosen both for the strength of the local health and innovation ecosystem and for the international connectivity provided by Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, the second busiest in France for international traffic. This position enables effective coordination between production, commercial development, and governance sites.
The local ecosystem is particularly favorable to health-tech projects: renowned life sciences research centers (IPMC, iBV), the Nice University Hospital (CHU), and the RespirERA University Hospital Institute offer a rich environment for skills and collaborative opportunities.
Hervé Laubertie, Managing Director of Team Nice Côte d’Azur: “The project led by Circum Medtech Pharma perfectly illustrates an industrial model adapted to today’s realities: a centralized management based in a territory connected to a relevant ecosystem, linked to the rest of the world via a major international airport, and production organized at a Euro-Mediterranean scale.
This type of configuration, particularly well-suited to the health sector, also reflects new industrial balances affecting many sectors. The Nice Côte d’Azur area has the assets needed to support and host this type of development, thanks to the density of its innovation ecosystem, the quality of its infrastructure, and its openness to the international market.”
Strengthening economic cooperation between Nice Côte d’Azur and Tunisia
Team Nice Côte d’Azur, which has supported Circum Medtech Pharma since its establishment in Nice in 2024, attended the inauguration of the Tunisian site on October 2, represented by Sana Bouyahia, Head of Project Development – Health & Sports.
This presence is part of an active economic cooperation initiative launched in 2023, aimed at strengthening ties between the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolitan Area and Tunisia. This partnership has notably included:
- the signing of an agreement with Novation City at VivaTech 2024,
- several joint missions, including the Tunisia Tech Tour,
- and the establishment of several innovative Tunisian companies in the Nice Côte d’Azur area.
The growth of Circum Medtech Pharma fully reflects this Euro-Mediterranean momentum driven by the region, combining industrial innovation, territorial cooperation, and international openness.
