- Meeting in Nice between the Consul General of Japan and Team Nice Côte d’Azur.
- Identification of sectors of common interest: innovation, tourism, creative industries, sustainable technologies.
- Exchanges on the international positioning of the Côte d’Azur and the assets of the territory for attracting investment.
- Confirmation of a desire to maintain regular dialogue between the two territories.
- Discussion on cultural and economic complementarities likely to foster targeted collaborations.
In early August, Hervé Laubertie, Managing Director of Team Nice Côte d’Azur, and Jean-François Chapperon, Senior Manager for Foreign Direct Investments, welcomed in Nice Mr. Hiroshi Kitagawa, Consul General of Japan in Marseille.
This meeting was part of the ongoing economic relations between the Nice Côte d’Azur territory and Japan. The aim was to maintain an active link and to share information on local economic opportunities, while strengthening mutual understanding of their respective ecosystems.
Four sectors at the heart of the discussions
The exchanges made it possible to identify four areas of common interest.
Innovation, a recognized driver of the territory’s development, was mentioned as a central focus. Tourism, an emblematic sector, offers opportunities towards international clientele. Creative industries, which include audiovisual, design, and digital arts, contribute to the image and economic dynamism of the territory. Lastly, sustainable technologies address shared priorities regarding ecological transition.
Maintaining regular economic ties
The meeting confirmed the mutual interest in continuing a regular dialogue. This continuity aims to facilitate, in the long term, more targeted exchanges and the implementation of joint initiatives, building on the complementarities between the two territories.
