A structuring healthcare project
On June 18, 2025, the Sedna Santé Group officially laid the foundation stone of its new healthcare facility, La Madalena, in the La Madeleine district of Nice. This 135-bed medico-social infrastructure meets a growing demand for long-term care and rehabilitation.
Backed by an investment of €25 million excluding taxes, fully financed by the group, the project is part of a strategy to strengthen geriatric care capacity within the metropolitan area. The building, currently under construction, will be delivered at the end of 2027, following a work schedule divided into three main phases:
- Autumn 2025: completion of the foundations
- Autumn 2026: completion of the main structure
- End of 2027: opening to patients
A facility designed for the geriatric care pathway
Located at 192 boulevard de la Madeleine, the site will cover 6,500 m² over five floors, with two basement levels including 50 parking spaces. The facility will offer a complete healthcare pathway, structured around three complementary units:
- Medical care and rehabilitation (SMR): 35 beds
- Long-term care (SLD): 90 beds
- Day hospital: 10 places
A rooftop therapeutic garden will complement the overall approach, focused on functional rehabilitation, well-being, and residents’ quality of life. The design has been conceived to combine functional performance and sustainability, notably through the use of low-carbon concrete and special attention to acoustic comfort and user safety.
Local presence and economic momentum
La Madalena is being built on redeveloped land, freed up by the demolition of former artisanal activities.
Sedna Santé, already operating ten facilities in France — seven of them in the Alpes-Maritimes — confirms its position in local gerontology, working in coordination with the area’s hospital services, including Nice University Hospital (CHU).
Beyond its bed capacity, this project contributes to structuring the regional geriatric healthcare offer, providing solutions tailored to the most vulnerable profiles: dependent persons, those experiencing loss of autonomy, or those with chronic illnesses.
