TM Forum Live! 2017<\/strong>, the largest international exposition dedicated to digital innovation, was held in Nice from May 15-18, 2017. Team C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur presented the region\u2019s advantages to companies from across the globe, featuring technological assets in the realms of mobile connectivity, the Internet of Things, and Smart Cities.<\/p>\n

At TM Forum Live! 2017, Team C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur brought together the major political and economic actors of the region<\/strong> by accompanying their involvement with the event. Jacques Lesieur<\/strong>, CEO of Team C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur, and Pascale Pecha<\/strong>, Head of Business Development for Team C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur, welcomed leaders to the agency\u2019s booth, including Rudy Salles<\/strong>, Deputy Mayor of Nice in Tourism and International Relations, Christian Tordo<\/strong>, Deputy Mayor of Nice in Economy, Employment, Industry, and Innovation; and Jean-Pierre Savarino<\/strong>, President of the Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Also in attendance were representatives from the Sophia Antipolis Council.<\/p>\n

TM Forum, the organization behind the TM Forum Live! 2017,  brings together 850 member-businesses<\/strong> from the digital innovation community. The Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Metropolis recently joined the organization as a full member, proof of Nice\u2019s involvement in the exposition and the endurance of the event in the region. In an interview held at the forum, Rudy Salles<\/a><\/strong> and Christian Tordo<\/a><\/strong> noted that the Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Metropolis is one of the top 10 Smart Cities in the world<\/strong> (Juniper Research 2016). The city\u2019s collaboration with TM Forum is a strategic move for technology and infrastructure development in the region. <\/strong>Success has already been achieved by businesses from TM Forum thanks to data provided by the Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Metropolis, notably, V\u00e9lo Bleu\u2019s bikesharing Data.<\/p>\n

Through the \u00c9co-Vall\u00e9e, an Operation of National Interest that accommodates an urban technology hub, more than 10,000 businesses, laboratories, and R&D centers were granted the means to establish large-scale development and research projects<\/strong> in the sectors of E-Health, CivicTech, <\/strong>and Smart City<\/strong>. The international science and technology park Sophia Antipolis <\/strong>, which contains more than 2,230 businesses <\/strong>and 36,300 jobs<\/strong>, supplies an international workforce specialized in High Tech and ICT, and welcomes R&D centers with a global scope.<\/p>\n

During TM Forum Live! 2017, Team C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur showcased these assets to businesses<\/strong> to encourage the companies to take advantage of the technology and talent available in the region to develop business activities. Several short- and medium-term projects were identified and contacts built<\/strong>, promising fruitful collaborations between foreign businesses and the economic and academic actors from the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur. Team C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur connected IMREDD<\/strong> (Mediterranean Institute for Risk, Environment, and Sustainable Development) with the creators of Connected Citizen: Life in a Green, Clean, Smart City<\/strong>, a digital services platform. The platform was developed by TM Forum members Orange<\/strong>, NTT<\/strong> Group<\/strong>, Esri, Bearing Point, Amdocs, and Symantec<\/strong>. Orange, who co-directed the project, is studying he opening of an experimental digital services laboratory at IMREDD by the end of 2017.<\/p>\n
