Sophia Antipolis science park\u00a0made itself\u00a0known to the new international \u201ctech\u201d scene during the last edition of the Web Summit held from the 7th to 10th<\/sup>\u00a0of November 2016 in Lisbon. The 1st Technopole of Europe federated the entrepreneurs of the\u00a0French Tech C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur*\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0to present the activities and assets of the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur to investors and technology experts at a networking event.<\/p>\n

Web Summit 2016<\/strong>\u00a0gathered together 53,000 participants, representing 15,000 companies and 166 different countries, who were able to demonstrate their latest innovations and discuss the societal developments arising from the growing presence of technologies in the daily lives of users.<\/p>\n

Team C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur carried out\u00a0activities of prospection of companies<\/strong>\u00a0and met\u00a0some fifteen companies,<\/strong>\u00a0including two carriers of an investment project on the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur in the short term.<\/p>\n

To support the promotion of the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur for companies, the science park of Sophia Antipolis presented\u00a0its ecosystem of innovation<\/strong>\u00a0at a networking cocktail, organized by Team C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur. About thirty entrepreneurs, journalists and international investors were able to meet and exchange on technologies developed within the scientific park.<\/p>\n

The latest economic data on Sophia Antipolis, collected by\u00a0the Sirius Observatory,<\/strong>\u00a0were pre-announced to journalists. Data reveals that\u00a02,200 companies representing 36,300 jobs<\/strong>\u00a0are located in the science park,\u00a0with the creation of\u00a0800 new R&D jobs per year<\/strong>\u00a0on average. These figures demonstrate the potential of the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur ecosystem\u00a0in conducting R&D projects in highly specialized areas. Expertise recognized by major international groups, like\u00a0Bosch,<\/strong>\u00a0which has chosen to establish itself in Sophia Antipolis<\/a> in 2015 to develop its future autonomous vehicles.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Several startups and student entrepreneurs from the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur also participated in the event and demonstrated\u00a0the support and welcome solutions<\/strong>\u00a0offered to innovative young entrepreneurs on the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur. Startups including\u00a0BeeShary<\/a>,\u00a0LiveMasters,\u00a0Swike\u00a0and\u00a0Zipli<\/a>\u00a0were able to pitch in front of the audience to present their solutions and consider partnerships with invited companies.<\/p>\n

*French Tech C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur :<\/strong>\u00a0refers to the startups and innovation entrepreneurs from the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur\/French Riviera region,\u00a0under the national brand \u00a0\u201cFrench Tech\u201d created by the government to promote\u00a0French startups abroad.<\/p>\n
