This marks a new phase in the development of clinical research at the territorial level. Nice University Hospital will lead the initiative in its capacity as the coordinating institution of GHT 06.  <\/li><li>The entity is built on the pooling of expertise and resources. Its objectives include increasing the number of clinical trials available, improving the quality and coordination of studies, and supporting greater patient enrollment in research protocols. <\/li><li>A Territorial Research Committee will define the strategic priorities, monitor outcomes, and support the implementation of projects. Each institution will retain its autonomy within a shared framework designed to ensure data quality and reliability. Annual monitoring will assess research activity, patient enrollment, and scientific output.  <\/li><li>The entity is intended to become a long-term structure and to gradually expand to all institutions within GHT 06. It helps position the French Riviera as a leading territory for clinical research. <\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>A formalized partnership between two healthcare institutions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On March 31, 2026, Nice University Hospital and Cannes Simone Veil Hospital announced the signing of AZUR\u2019s founding agreement. This initiative builds on the cooperation already established between the partner institutions. Led by Nice University Hospital as the coordinating institution of GHT 06, the entity is designed to provide a lasting framework for research activity, strengthen the territory\u2019s scientific appeal, and improve access to therapeutic innovation. Cannes Simone Veil Hospital is fully engaged in this collaborative approach.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:49px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Pooling resources to expand research opportunities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The AZUR Entity is based on a shared-resource model that brings together expertise and operational capabilities. It is intended to broaden access to innovative treatments, increase the number of clinical trials available, improve the quality and coordination of studies, encourage patient inclusion in research protocols, and develop shared expertise across institutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:49px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>A governance model structured around performance indicators<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The entity is supported by a Territorial Research Committee responsible for setting strategic priorities, monitoring results, and assisting institutions in implementing projects. Each institution retains its autonomy while contributing to a shared territorial dynamic within a framework that guarantees data quality and reliability. Annual monitoring will measure research activity, patient enrollment, and scientific output.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:49px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Gradual expansion across all GHT 06 institutions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This initiative is intended to expand progressively to all institutions within GHT 06, which brings together the public healthcare institutions of the Alpes-Maritimes area. It will help strengthen cooperation and support the development of joint clinical research projects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:49px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Strengthening the territory\u2019s attractiveness in clinical research<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The AZUR Territorial Research Entity helps strengthen the territory\u2019s scientific appeal by providing a lasting structure for research activity and improving coordination across the French Riviera. By increasing the number of clinical trials available, developing shared expertise across institutions, and improving the quality and coordination of studies, it makes the territory more visible and more effective in clinical research.
