This distinction, granted by the French League Against Cancer, places <strong>Nice among the first four French cities recognized for concrete commitment in the fight against preventable cancers.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award builds on the policy pursued by the Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Metropolis, itself a pioneer with the \u201cMa M\u00e9tropole se Ligue\u201d label obtained in 2024. This dual metropolitan and municipal commitment reflects a structured environmental health strategy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Concrete actions led by the city<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2008, the City of Nice has implemented a series of measures built on an integrated vision of public health and the environment. Municipal green spaces have been free of pesticides for more than fifteen years. In school canteens, 30% of food comes from organic farming, and plastics were eliminated as early as 2019.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other innovative initiatives include France\u2019s first smoke-free beach, inaugurated in Nice in 2012, and the signing in 2021 of the \u201cCities and Territories Free from Endocrine Disruptors\u201d charter. These strategic orientations demonstrate a strong commitment to population health, particularly for the most vulnerable, such as children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By recognizing the city as exemplary in this field, the League Against Cancer highlights the joint mobilization of elected officials and municipal services.
