Notably, <strong>28% of foreign companies were first-time investors in France<\/strong>, driven significantly by Asia (38%) and Africa (85%). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Industry and innovation remained key pillars<\/strong>, <strong>with 28% of projects in production<\/strong>, and <strong>R&amp;D investments increasing by 9% year-on-year.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, <strong>43 AI-related projects were recorded <\/strong>\u2014 a <strong>53% increase over 2023<\/strong> \u2014 highlighting France\u2019s growing role in deep tech and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Sud region: a growth engine in france\u2019s investment landscape<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.risingsud.fr\/pourquoi-realiser-du-business-en-region-sud\/5-raisons-dinvestir-en-region-sud-1\/1000-projets-etrangers-implantes-en-region-sud-depuis-10-ans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">In line with the national trend, risingSUD, the regional economic development agency, reported 125 new international investment projects in the Sud Region <\/a>for 2024 \u2014 <strong>a 5% increase <\/strong>compared to the previous year. <strong>Thanks to<\/strong> <strong>risingSUD\u2019s support<\/strong>, <strong>80% of these projects received direct assistance to facilitate their launch and growth.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The region attracted <strong>strategic investments<\/strong> across key sectors:<br><br><strong>&#8211; 59 CSR-related projects in environmental transition<br><\/strong><strong>&#8211; 12 projects in artificial intelligence<br><\/strong><strong>&#8211; 57 projects in industrial sovereignty, including R&amp;D and decision-making centers<br><br><\/strong>The Sud Region confirmed its position as France\u2019s second-largest destination for R&amp;D investments, with 20 projects in 2024, up from 13 in 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As a gateway to Europe,<\/strong> the Sud Region saw <strong>14 foreign companies choose it as their first location in France (+40% vs. 2023), and 20 companies set up their first European site there (+33%).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Three metropolitan areas \u2014 Aix-Marseille, Toulon-Provence, and Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur \u2014 concentrated 65% of all new projects<\/strong>, while the<strong> Var department posted the strongest growth<\/strong>, with <strong>14 new establishments and 530 jobs created.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Metropolis: an attractive innovation hub<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of this regional growth, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investincotedazur.com\/en\/2024-review-a-key-year-for-team-nice-cote-dazurs-attractiveness-agency\/\"><strong>Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Metropolis recorded 25 new company establishments<\/strong> in 2024, all supported by Team Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur, generating <strong>274 jobs over three years<\/strong>.<\/a> <strong>Notably, 52% of investments were in technology and smart services,<\/strong> reinforcing the territory\u2019s positioning in innovation and digital transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>International openness remains a key driver of the metropolis\u2019 attractiveness. <strong>Strategic partnerships with Tunisia, Italy, and Canada <\/strong>support economic and commercial exchange, helping to onboard new international actors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Team Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur\u2019s<\/strong> actions are also amplified through <strong>major global events<\/strong> such as <strong>the arrival of the Tour de France<\/strong> in Nice (July 2024) and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.investincotedazur.com\/en\/nice-will-host-the-united-nations-conference-on-oceans-in-2025\/\">United Nations Ocean Conference (June 2025)<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 both leveraged to increase visibility and attract high-value investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024:<br><br><strong>&#8211; 56% of new companies established were French<br><\/strong><strong>&#8211; 32% came from other European countries<br><\/strong><strong>&#8211; The health sector accounted for 20% of new projects<br><br><\/strong>To further reinforce
