Following the unveiling of the first locations to host the Olympic Flame Relay, the city of Nice<\/a> has been chosen as the celebration site for the final stage of the journey in the Azurean territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Olympic Flame will first be lit in Olympia on April 16, 2024, following ancient tradition. After a 12-day relay in Greece and a crossing of the Mediterranean aboard the famous three-masted ship, the Belem, it will officially arrive in France on May 8<\/strong>, 2024, heralding the return of the Games after a 100-year wait. This will mark the start of a continuous celebration across France for over two months, paving the way for the Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nice, as the host city for the 2024 Olympic football competition, where 6 football matches will take place at the Allianz Riviera Stadium between July 24 and 31, 2024, will have the privilege of being one of the stage cities in this journey across France. on June 18, 2024, when the Olympic Flame will arrive on the French Riviera.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice C\u00f4te d’Azur Metropolis, and Deputy President of the Provence-Alpes-C\u00f4te d’Azur region, declares: “The Olympic Flame in Nice on June 18, 2024, will be more than a symbol.<\/strong> Being the first stop in the home stretch to Paris, Nice concludes the Ocean Relay before becoming the global capital with the United Nations Ocean Summit in June 2025.<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

After passing through 6 other municipalities in the department, it will arrive in Nice where it will discover the Promenade des Anglais. A celebration site will be set up in the heart of the city for the people of Nice to enjoy this grand festivity, right where the last relay runner will light the cauldron. Sporting activities linked to Nice clubs (athletics, basketball, breakdance, skateboarding, judo…) and in the presence of local champions will be scheduled from 3:30 pm on the Quai des \u00c9tats-Unis to involve as many people from Nice as possible in this historic event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, during the Games, the city of Nice will activate a setup in the city center to experience a 100% sports and Olympic moment with activities for all audiences and broadcasts of the competitions taking place in Paris, as it usually does for all major events it hosts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
