A next-generation aircraft on one of the most strategic routes
From December 6, 2026, Transavia France will switch all its flights between Paris-Orly and Nice Côte d’Azur Airport to the Airbus A320neo. This next-generation aircraft reduces fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions by approximately 15% compared to the aircraft it replaces, while cutting its noise footprint by up to 50%, a benefit that is also felt inside the cabin for passengers.
«We are grateful to Transavia for deploying a next-generation aircraft on one of our most important routes. It offers significant benefits, foremost among them a substantial reduction in emissions compared with the aircraft previously operated on that route,», states Franck Goldnadel, Chairman of the Executive Board of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur.
A redesigned cabin experience
The A320neo will offer passengers a fully modernised cabin: redesigned seats with a wider base, more personal space, individual USB ports, larger tray tables and more spacious overhead bins whose increased capacity allows up to eight bags to be stored vertically compared to five in standard bins.
“Continuously improving the travel experience is a priority for Transavia France. With the introduction of the Airbus A320neo on our Nice–Paris-Orly route, we are offering passengers a quieter, more modern, more comfortable flight experience. This development reflects our commitment to making long-term investments in our offering while continuing our efforts to reduce our environmental footprint,” said Julien Mallard, Deputy Managing Director, Commercial, Transavia France.
A move aligned with the modernisation of connectivity on the Côte d’Azur

The airport handled 15.23 million commercial passengers in 2025, with scheduled long-haul traffic up 5.8%. The Terminal 2 extension, inaugurated in April 2026, raised the airport’s annual capacity to 18 million passengers.
The Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur group is also pursuing an ambitious environmental strategy. The first French airport group to achieve Level 5 of the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme in 2025 and holder of the EcoVadis Gold medal, it has also entered into a
