- Family-owned hospitality group Solestia opened Hotel Posidonia and Sacha restaurant on Friday, 10 July 2026, at 49 rue de l’Hôtel des Postes in central Nice.
- The two establishments occupy the former Hôtel de Verdun, a building dating from 1860 that has been renovated following three years of work, close to Place Masséna.
- Founded in October 2025, the group entered the Côte d’Azur hospitality market through the acquisition of three four-star hotels in Cannes. Nice marks its first location outside the Cannes area.
- The hotel has 38 rooms across five floors, while the adjoining Sacha restaurant is the first restaurant operated by the group.
A three-year renovation project in central Nice
The former Hôtel de Verdun, an 1860 building located close to Place Masséna and the Promenade des Anglais, underwent a complete three-year renovation before reopening as Hotel Posidonia. The property positions itself between the welcoming atmosphere of a four-star hotel and the refinement of a five-star establishment.
The design of the property was entrusted to Nice-based Jean-Paul Gomis Architecture and Paris-based Maison Malapert. The interior design also involved creators from the region, including artist Franck Lebraly, who was born in Cannes, and stained-glass artist Sophie Toporkoff, a former creative director at Hermès.
“We designed this hotel as a place for people to meet and connect, where excellence in service is expressed above all through the attention we give to our guests and our teams,” said Amandine Charpentier, Multi-Site Director at Solestia Group.
An offering designed for leisure and business travellers
The hotel offers 38 rooms across five floors, comprising 20 Classic rooms (16 to 18 sq m), 9 Superior rooms (18 to 21 sq m) and 9 Signature rooms (18 to 24 sq m), four of which have a terrace. The top category, the Signature Privilège, combines 20 sq m of indoor space with a private 11 sq m terrace.
For business travellers, the hotel provides a fully equipped 20 sq m meeting room accommodating up to eight people.
Sacha restaurant, the group’s first dining concept
Opened on the same day and adjoining the hotel, with which it shares an entrance, Sacha is the first restaurant operated by Solestia. With seating for 46 guests, it serves homemade contemporary bistro cuisine.
The kitchen is led by Chef Antoine Losfeld, who brings more than 20 years of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants on the Côte d’Azur and internationally. The emphasis is on locally sourced ingredients selected from regional producers and fishermen committed to sustainable practices. The dessert menu is overseen by Nice-based pastry chef Sihem Braïek.
The restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday for continuous service from 11:30 am to 10 pm, with breakfast served from 7 am. The lunch menu is priced at €25 for a starter and main course or main course and dessert, and €32 for three courses, while the dish of the day is available for €22. Business and Business Premium menus, priced at €49 and €85 respectively, have also been created for business lunches and dinners.
Solestia, an expanding hospitality group on the Côte d’Azur
Founded in October 2025, Solestia is a family-owned hospitality group with a vision centred on the Mediterranean art of living. Before this dual opening in Nice, the group already operated three four-star hotels in Cannes: Le Verlaine (46 rooms), Le Cézanne (29 rooms) and Le Renoir (31 rooms).
With Hotel Posidonia and Sacha restaurant, Solestia is establishing its presence in Nice and confirming its ambition to develop a collection of distinctive hospitality destinations, including beyond the Côte d’Azur.
