Delta Boston–Nice: direct route inaugurated in May 2026

  • Nice Côte d’Azur Airport welcomed the first direct flight from Boston on 17 May 2026, operated by Delta Air Lines. This route represents the 7th connection to the United States from Nice, a market experiencing very strong growth, and the 3rd operated by Delta. It will operate three times a week from 17 May to 23 October, using a 282-seat A330-300 aircraft.
  • Every year since the end of the pandemic, a new direct route has been launched between the Côte d’Azur and the United States.More than 300,000 passengers travelled on these direct routes in 2025, three times the level recorded in 2019. After Paris, the Côte d’Azur is the best-connected region in France to the United States.
  • For Delta Air Lines, which has been operating at Nice for 35 years, Boston complements the existing routes to New York JFK and Atlanta. The aircraft is configured with 34 Business Class seats, 21 Premium Economy seats and 227 Economy seats.
  • The inauguration comes one month after the opening of the Terminal 2 extension, which has increased the airport’s capacity to 18 million passengers per year. The airport welcomed 15.23 million passengers in 2025.

A confirmed transatlantic momentum

On Sunday 17 May, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport welcomed an aircraft arriving directly from Boston for the first time.
This launch forms part of a trend that has been underway since the end of the pandemic: every year, a new direct route between the Côte d’Azur and the United States has expanded the network.
Direct routes to the United States carried more than 300,000 passengers in 2025, three times more than in 2019.

Delta Air Lines, a long-standing operator at Nice Airport for 35 years, now operates three transatlantic routes from Nice: New York JFK, Atlanta and Boston. The route will operate three times a week — on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays — from 17 May to 23 October 2026, using a 282-seat A330-300 aircraft.

Franck Goldnadel, Chairman of the Executive Board of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur, said: “We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the teams at Delta Air Lines for once again demonstrating their confidence in and commitment to our region, which is the best connected to the United States in France after Paris. Delta Air Lines is our leading transatlantic partner in terms of both longevity and the number of routes and seats it operates.”

Eleonore Roger-Martin, Commercial Director France, Delta Air Lines, said: “Our new non-stop service between Nice and Boston, launched on 17 May, represents far more than just an additional route: it offers passengers on both sides of the Atlantic a simpler and more seamless travel experience. This new service complements our existing operations to New York JFK and Atlanta, increasing capacity in the market and demonstrating our long-term commitment to the region, which we have served for the past 35 years,” adds Eleonore Roger-Martin, Commercial Director France, Delta Air Lines.”

An expanding network to and from Nice

This inauguration strengthens the connectivity of Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, France’s second-largest airport.

The airport handled 15.23 million passengers in 2025. The Terminal 2 extension, inaugurated on 13 April 2026, added 23,000 sq m and increased annual capacity from 14 to 18 million passengers.

The airport serves more than 130 destinations for summer 2026.

Route openings to and from Nice have multiplied in recent months: Air Canada to Montreal, United Airlines to Washington Dulles, Air Corsica to Florence, Animawings to Bucharest, easyJet to Hurghada, Düsseldorf, Santorini, Lamezia Terme, Newcastle, Cairo and Lyon, Twin Jet to Olbia and Menorca, and Chalair to Brive-la-Gaillarde.

The airport’s activity supported 39,600 jobs and generated €2.7 billion in GDP in France in 2024. Spending by commercial aviation visitors represents €3.3 billion in revenue.

The group retained its EcoVadis Gold Medal with a score of 83/100, placing it in the top 1% of its sector and confirming a trajectory that aligns capacity development with environmental responsibility.
