The world-famous Palais des Festivals (host to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival) is an annual meeting spot for numerous professional groups from throughout the world, such as MIDEM, MIPIM, MILIA, TAX FREE, THE GARTNER GROUP, and more. • an exhibition room (useful area: 4,900 m2)
  • eight 60-seat projection rooms
  • connections between the present centre and the extension.

Another major facet of the economy in Cannes is the high-technology industry dominated by the Alcatel Alenia Space operational satellite centre. Staff of 2,000 in the Cannes site works on building satellites and telecommunications, observation and military satellite systems, for a turnover of 1.8 billion euros in 2004.

The Image Technopôle of Cannes
This technopole will be mapped out on a 33-hectare strech of land along the Mediterranean coast. Building on both the area's wealth of expertise and on its longstanding ties with the film industry, this technology park will be entirely devoted to activities linked to image processing and its numerous applications. The goal is to facilitate promotion activities, encourage partnerships between industrial R&D and public research programs, and develop special high-level training in the field.
