A magnet for the telecoms business for over 30 years, the Côte d’Azur today has become a true cluster for the mobile sector and home to a wide range of activities. The region has attracted leading world players in IT and telecoms, small and medium-sized companies, innovative start-ups and renowned researchers, which has positioned it at the vanguard of the telecoms sector.

The Côte d'Azur is one of the few regions in Europe where the sector’s entire value chain is concentrated, from design right through to implementation, and an extremely wide range of expertise can also be found that includes wireless IP networks, semiconductor design, embedded security devices, IPTV and content for mobiles.

Two organizations, which are both based at Sophia Antipolis, ETSI (European Telecom Standards Institute) and the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) also play a key role in setting European telecoms and network standards.

      Ségolène PIN MONSAINGEON is the Business Unit Manager for the Information Technologies business sectors. The IT Business Unit addresses all technology-oriented companies in the fields of micro-electronics, telecommunications, software and multimedia. Previously, Ségolène was in charge of marketing intelligence and responsible for the Riviera Resource Center. Before joining Team Côte d'Azur, Segolene worked for several years as EMEA Marketing and Communication Manager for Alcatel Amtech, an American-European joint venture providing global solutions based on RFID technologies in the transportation and access control industries. She holds a joint Master Degree in Economics and Foreign Languages from the Grenoble University (France), as well as a Translator Master Degree from the University of Alberta (Canada).
