Blessed with wonderful surroundings that have inspired the greatest perfumers (or « noses » as they are known in the business) to create legendary perfumes, the Côte d'Azur is widely recognized as the world's leading aroma competitive cluster with an unrivaled concentration of expertise in fragrances, food aromas and fine chemistry.
The Côte d'Azur perfumes and fragrances cluster is firmly established in the region around Grasse, the perfume capital of the world. The cluster is the industry's secondlargest employment basin in France and accounts for 50% of its domestic revenue.
As a result, major industry players have been based in and around Grasse for many years developing increasingly sophisticated techniques. All the world leaders have a presence here. Their activity covers the entire production chain from R&D through innovation, production, marketing and distribution.
Strength and stability: The Côte d'Azur's perfume and fragrance industry grew out of the local rose and jasmine horticulture industry, and expanded to encompass the fast-growing sector of aromatic substances. The fragrance industry developed around a few local companies--some over a hundred years old--which have become international players.
Fine chemicals: Mane, Robertet, Charabot, IFF Monique Rémy ... Cosmetology: Galderma, Lancaster ...
Multinational companies invest in the Côte d'Azur to tap into the local knowhow.
Côte d'Azur companies draw from a pool of highly qualified professionals, including world-famous designers, researchers working on new processes, and expert technicians in fragrances and fine chemicals.
The Sainte-Marguerite business park in Grasse: this eight-hectare park has 60,000 sq. m. dedicated to fragrances, perfumes, scents, flavors and related activities such as cosmetics. It includes production units, offices and showrooms (the park is eligible for local government subsidies for SMEs).
The World Nature Observatory: a major project that comprises an R&D center, a technology hub, an international higher-education institution, a technology business incubator and a conference center.

"Sophia-Antipolis is a very attractive region for any semiconductor company, for several reasons. The first one is that in the technology park of Sophia-Antipolis there is a solid tradition of analog and digital design, which is due to the presence of other big companies working in the same or similar markets, like Texas Instruments, Intel, STM and others. The second reason is linked to presence in the technology park of the Polytech'Nice-Sophia and other important schools.
That will guarantee our future growth since the region will always offer both experienced design engineers and you talents to hire."

"For me, Sophia Antipolis is unique in Europe because of its multicultural nature which is evident daily, but also the concentration of a multitude of companies from the computing world in a single location."
