SOLIDAGES: the "Chilean Miner" cookies available in pharmacies

Protibis® cookies helped to combat protein and energy malnutrition in the 33 miners trapped in the San José mine in September 2010

Solidages announces the launch of Protibis® in pharmacies, the small cookie that combats malnutrition.

The company's flagship product and the result of public research, Protibis® cookies are protein enriched and hyper caloric, they are specially-designed for older people suffering from malnutrition. These cookies make an important contribution in proteins and energy in a very small volume.

The innovation: Originally designed for people who have difficulty chewing, these small cookies appeal to the sick and old suffering from malnutrition.

Several clinical trials show that they are particularly appreciated by people suffering from Alzheimer's, cancer and anorexia.

An innovative company already awarded eight times since its creation:

Solidages is a start-up resulting from research work carried out at Nice Sophia University and Nice University Hospital.

Solidages was recently awarded by the Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, Valérie Pécresse, who presented it with a grant to develop its range of medications to combat dry mouth (National Competition for the Creation of Technologically Innovative Companies - 2011).

The development: Protibis cookies are already used in hospitals and care homes. Now, under-nourished elderly and sick people at home can purchase them in pharmacies in boxes of 24 Protibis® cookies.

They chose the Côte d'Azur

"Sophia-Antipolis is a very attractive region for any semiconductor company, for several reasons. The first one is that in the technology park of Sophia-Antipolis there is a solid tradition of analog and digital design, which is due to the presence of other big companies working in the same or similar markets, like Texas Instruments, Intel, STM and others. The second reason is linked to presence in the technology park of the Polytech'Nice-Sophia and other important schools.

That will guarantee our future growth since the region will always offer both experienced design engineers and you talents to hire."
