Nice G20 YES : 400 young entrepreneurs propose practical ideas to the Heads of State

Meeting in Nice, these young entrepreneurs proposed making entrepreneurship the key element in the world economic recovery

Through their President, Grégoire Sentilhes, the presidents of the G20 YES delegations reminded that entrepreneurship is a vital driving force for innovation, growth and employment in both developed and emerging nations, particularly for young people.

The G20 Entrepreneur summit identified over 200 current measures that governments, associations and the private sector have implemented in order to remove the obstacles encountered by entrepreneurs and strengthen the three founding pillars for dynamic entrepreneurship, namely fertile 'ecosystems', specific resources for funding companies at every stage in their development and a culture that encourages risk and entrepreneurship.

The G20 YES called on the G20 Heads of State to recognise the importance and necessity of supporting entrepreneurship as a vital resource to resolve the current economic crisis in their final declaration.

The G20 YES also proposed that the G20 Heads of State enter into a collaborative process with governments to develop an "Entrepreneur Declaration" as well as a practical action plan that could be used to boost entrepreneurship in each and every one of the G20 countries..

The "Entrepreneur Declaration" would be based on five key principles:

1. The G20 governments recognise the socio-economic role of entrepreneurship, the need to encourage the next generation of entrepreneurs and their role in creating jobs;

2. The G20 governments declare themselves ready to implement policies that support innovation, entrepreneurship and an entrepreneurial culture both nationally and internationally;

3. These policies will rely not only on traditional capitalistic resources but also less traditional means (for example, private savings, public guarantees, particularly from multilateral organisations) to support entrepreneurs who are creating or developing their company;

4. These policies will take into account the unprecedented demographic and economic challenges which are countries are facing, such as unemployment among young people;

5. The measures proposed will encourage entrepreneurship in each and every country belonging to

the G20 without creating market distortion or unfair competition.

"The G20 Entrepreneur summit is calling on the G20 Heads of State to begin an immediate process which will make it possible to draft an action plan in line with the principles of the "Entrepreneur Declaration" for the next meeting of the G20 Heads of State in Mexico. Until then, all the organisations that support young entrepreneurs will work in consultation with their countries' governments and their peers within the B20, based on the framework that has been defined, in order to propose recommendations that could then be implemented, "Grégoire Sentilhes said.

They chose the Côte d'Azur

"Sophia-Antipolis is a very attractive region for any semiconductor company, for several reasons. The first one is that in the technology park of Sophia-Antipolis there is a solid tradition of analog and digital design, which is due to the presence of other big companies working in the same or similar markets, like Texas Instruments, Intel, STM and others. The second reason is linked to presence in the technology park of the Polytech'Nice-Sophia and other important schools.

That will guarantee our future growth since the region will always offer both experienced design engineers and you talents to hire."
