EDHEC at the centre of the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit

The G20 for entrepreneurs and its 20 international delegations have selected EDHEC’s Nice campus to host this first summit in France.

After Toronto and Seoul, the 3rd G20 YES (Young Entrepreneur Summit), the annual international summit for the most exemplary entrepreneurs from the G20 countries, will take place for the 1st time in France, on EDHEC’s Nice campus from 31st October to 2nd November.  400 entrepreneurs from all over the world will meet here to develop practical proposals that they will present to the G20 Heads of State in Cannes on 3rd November.

“This is an exceptional project that places EDHEC at the centre of entrepreneurship. Our students and expert lecturers will work with the delegations during the various workshops, thus making a strategic contribution to the development of practical proposals. Innovation and company creation are strong development levers, a vital solution in these times of crisis”, says Olivier Oger, Managing Director of the EDHEC Group.

He himself will contribute to the first round table which takes place on 2nd November during the international conference: “Why do emerging and developed economies struggle so much to integrate youth in the economy and is entrepreneurship something you can teach?” Benoit Arnaud, Director of the EDHEC Management Institute, will be the keynote speaker on 1st November: “Youth & Entrepreneurs – How can entrepreneurship help younger generations take charge of their own destiny?”

70 students from the EDHEC Group are directly involved in the event, the students of the Global MBA and the MSc in Entrepreneurship being particularly dedicated to the coordination of themed workshops based on the reports produced on 31st October by Ernst & Young and 1st November by McKinsey.

They chose the Côte d'Azur

"Sophia-Antipolis is a very attractive region for any semiconductor company, for several reasons. The first one is that in the technology park of Sophia-Antipolis there is a solid tradition of analog and digital design, which is due to the presence of other big companies working in the same or similar markets, like Texas Instruments, Intel, STM and others. The second reason is linked to presence in the technology park of the Polytech'Nice-Sophia and other important schools.

That will guarantee our future growth since the region will always offer both experienced design engineers and you talents to hire."
