With its “Meet your Peers” function, the “Invest in Côte d’Azur” smartphone application is the first to connect economic leaders arriving in the area at the same time. The Côte d’Azur, which since the Grand Tour in the 18th century has played the role of “world expo” has just reinvented the “expo” using the smartphone.

On the occasion of the international summits organised in Cannes and Nice, Team Côte d’Azur, the Côte d’Azur’s investment promotion agency unveils the first geolocated communication smartphone application. Aimed at decision makers and international investors passing through the Alpes-Maritimes, this will enable them to meet not only each other but also the region's leaders in their field of activity.

Aware that the smartphone is an essential item for all businesspeople, Team Côte d’Azur decided to use this tool to enable businessmen and women to identify useful individuals in their immediate environment, while they are travelling.

This high-added value service further promotes business networking in the region.

With 1 million business travellers per year, the application could therefore help Team Côte d’Azur to capture new opportunities. Its objective is to obtain at least 1% of this target, which is 10,000 downloads of the application per year.

This application is part of the digital communication strategy that Team Côte d’Azur have been working on for almost two years which also includes making its website a real source of information and support for promotion (daily news in English and French) in order to raise foreign companies’ awareness of investment opportunities and the region. With a mainly American and British audience, the number of visitors to the website increased fourfold between 2008 and 2011

Furthermore, 5,000 people have subscribed to the daily newsletter (1/3 in English and 2/3 in French). The result is on average, 3 investment projects per year arising from a prospective contact made via a visit to the website.
