Nice: SIAV, EDM* specialist leverages vast potential of the OIN Eco Vallée-Plaine du Var

Italy’s leading Electronic Document Management software editor is focusing the on real estate sector and launching a series of dedicated workshops.

Electronic document management is one of the biggest challenges facing companies today. The goal is to speed up the process and reduce costs, particularly in the real estate sector where there is a huge amount of paperwork (tender documents, architect’s plans, legal documents, accounts, etc).

The Italian group SIAV offers a range of solutions to better manage the flow of documents (EDM -Electronic Document Management) and improve business processes (BPM & BPI - Business Process management & Business Process Integration).

It is now launching a series of workshops dedicated to the needs of actors in the real estate market, with a first session scheduled for 22 February.

3 questions to Gérard Dimiglio, Director of SISTEMI DIGITALI France:

1. Why have you focused on the real estate sector?

We’ve focused on real estate because document management is crucial to the sector. The volume and variety of documents is huge and includes: estimates, administrative files, architects’ plans, financial dossiers, experts’ reports, specifications, standardization etc. The sector generates a very large amount of documents and also involves a large number of different players, who all need to share and exchange documents internally and externally. And SIAV is a leader in solutions that manage inflow and outflow of documents, as well as collaborative work, by integrating its solution into the companies’ ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.

2. What made you decide to organize a series of workshops now?

The real estate sector, like many others, is looking at ways to increase productivity and improve its competitiveness. But it also has specific challenges. Due to the economic crisis, there needs to be healthier management, whilst sustainable development will result in increased consideration of regulatory constraints and how to meet these. Keeping the project paperless will be one of the challenges but not the only one. To achieve its goal, it’s vital that the commercial real estate sector and its players have access to the best tools to improve how it operates. It’s therefore the right time to invest in sophisticated tools such as EDM and BPM as well as automated mailing management platforms. Adopting these solutions will ensure increased competitiveness and better management.

3. Why are you focusing on this sector in the Côte d’Azur?

One of France’s most ambitious urban projects will be located here as part of the Eco Vallée-Plaine du Var project. This means that everything has to be thought out, designed and developed on this vast area. As a result, there will be a whole range of interaction between a large number of players from both the private and government sectors. And an important part of these discussions will focus on regulations and standards, which inevitably generates a large volume of documents as this new zone has to meet sustainable development standards and that now includes improving information systems as well as methods for planning and building. The workshops, therefore, are definitely an opportunity not to be missed!
