Klearia settles on the Côte d’Azur and introduces its first product
Klearia is a startup borned in CNRS which develops a water analysis system able to instantly reveal any trace of micropolluant. Clément Nanteuil, CEO and founder of Klearia, explains us the strategic choice of moving in Côte d’Azur.
Can you tell us about your business ?
Klearia develops innovative technologies to analyze micropollutants (heavy metals, pesticides and drug residues) in real-time and to optimize water treatment. Our glass microfluidic chips use a pioneering monitoring to reduce health and environmental issues in industrial companies. We are actually staying at CNRS location in Sophia Antipolis while organizing the installation of Klearia pilot site in Nice Eco Vallée in which we will invest 5M€.
Why did you choose the Côte d’Azur ?
The Côte d’Azur offers an advantageous ecosystem for cleantech companies with Nice Eco Vallée development, the presence of big players and numerous research centers. Moreover, Côte d’Azur quality of life is quite attractive. Finally, the financial support offered reinforced our decision to settle here (“Prime à l’aménagement du territoire” and “Dispositif Ariane”).
What particular support have you received from Team Côte d’Azur while choosing a location and setting up ?
Team Côte d’Azur has been an essential partner throughout Klearia setup. The agency indicated us the most strategic financial support to help our project to grow and helped us to build our case. They also connected us with local contacts, allowing us to become a part of Côte d’Azur ecosystem.
What are your projects and objectives for the coming year ?
Winner of the 2018 Innovation Prize (organized by BPI France and ADEME), our goal is to grow from startup to PME thanks to a fundraising taking place in about a year. The launch of our first product “Panda” and the installation of our pilot site in Nice Eco Vallée will allow us to recruit staff on the Côte d’Azur and to initiate our international strategy.
