Nice University Hospital gained two places in the annual rankings by the Le Point magazine and entered the Top Ten of the 50 best French hospitals from among 600 in total. “This is great recognition for the quality of the work by all its medical teams, its nursing staff and the management” the Nice-based establishment confirmed.

The rankings are based on a questionnaire completed by the establishments, data from the medical software solution (programme de médicalisation des systèmes d’information) and other sources such as the directories of learned societies and the 2010 review of specimen and transplant activities by the French Biomedicine Agency. Most of the questions focus on the material and human resources of these organisations which guarantee a greater or lesser level of safety and quality of care.

In addition to this tenth place, Nice University Hospital retained its first place for shoulder surgery and was ranked among the top ten French establishments for the following specialities: weight loss surgery (2nd), surgery for snoring (4th), lung cancer (4th), colon and intestinal surgery (6th), carpal tunnel surgery (7th), cosmetic surgery (7th), urinary stones (7th), emergency trauma care (7th), abdominal hernias (8th), gallbladders (9th), stomach and oesophagus (9th), proctology (10th).
