MILIA, the International Content Market for Interactive Media, will bring interactive high-tech products and services to the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from February 8-12. The event, considered one of the world’s most prestigious multimedia gatherings, will kick off with a presentation by James Murdoch, the president of News Corporation£s News America Digital Publishing. Another keynote speech concerning the evolution of the Internet will be given by Yahoo president and CEO Tim Koogle. In addition to numerous conferences and product demonstrations, February 11 will be consecrated to the role of broadband and enhanced television. Ronald J. Whittier, the vice-president of InteL’s content group, will explain the role of content and services provided by the latest personal computers in the coming broadband era. The event also includes the MILIA d’OR awards, sponsored by Japan£s DVD Forum, which are presented to the most innovative and creative companies in the interactive multimedia field.
