The region is home to nearly 100 museums, over 150 art galleries, 2 opera houses, as well as numerous theaters and cultural centers. The Côte d'Azur offers a densely packed program of world-renowned cultural events: festivals, concerts, plays and lectures scheduled all year round. The region also has an extensive infrastructure to meet the needs of an active, multi-cultural and highly qualified community.


Many service companies devote their activities to a foreign clientele while a dozen primary and secondary schools provide an international education. Newspapers are available in English, German, Italian and Spanish enabling residents and visitors to keep abreast of international developments. The Côte d'Azur is a true paradise for sports fans. Thanks to its excellent weather conditions and natural settings with both sea and mountains, the Côte d’Azur provides many opportunities to practice all kinds of sports: 31 yacht harbours along one of the world’s loveliest coastlines, 15 golf-clubs and 2 practice courses, 14 ski resorts just an hour’s drive from the coast.


The Côte d'Azur region is also an excellent healthcare environment. Medical care in the area represents a workforce of over 14,000 people, including 4,600 doctors, with large hospitals and healthcare centers benefiting from the most sophisticated equipment. A large range of medical expertise available within the Nice University hospital is backed up by other state-of-the-art hospitals and clinics: Monaco’s Cardio-Thoracic Center, the Arnault Tzanck Institute. The Côte d’Azur is also home to one of France’s five cancer centers, an unprecedented initiative in the struggle against cancer.
