City of Nice: the First French city to install Intelligent Parking

A collection of services that will be available from June. Featuring in particular, guidance via GPS or smartphone to available parking spaces

In order to improve traffic flow and car use in the city, reduce pollution and increase the quality of life for its inhabitants, Christian Estrosi has decided to implement a "2011-2015 Global Parking Scheme".

Presented on 30th September 2011, this action plan is based around 10 new initiatives, including intelligent parking which is one of the most innovative and ambitious measures.
In fact, Nice is currently installing a network of smart sensors combined with new generation pay and display machines, which in the future, will inform motorists of available spaces on public roads in real-time and offer them new payment solutions.
By reducing the amount of time spent looking for an available space, this system will improve traffic flow, especially for public transport, help in the proper management of delivery areas and handicapped parking spaces and reduce the CO2 emissions associated with urban traffic.
The technological solutions proposed within the scope of the Intelligent Parking project and developed on behalf of the City of Nice by SEMIACS and its subsidiary SUDE, have been recognised by the "2011 Best Smart City Innovative Project" award, presented during the last Smart City Expo World Congress which was held in Barcelona in late 2011.

They chose the Côte d'Azur

"Sophia-Antipolis is a very attractive region for any semiconductor company, for several reasons. The first one is that in the technology park of Sophia-Antipolis there is a solid tradition of analog and digital design, which is due to the presence of other big companies working in the same or similar markets, like Texas Instruments, Intel, STM and others. The second reason is linked to presence in the technology park of the Polytech'Nice-Sophia and other important schools.

That will guarantee our future growth since the region will always offer both experienced design engineers and you talents to hire."
